Dr. Breuer and I welcome you to History of Civilization Before 1500 (2168-HIST-2301-004). This website will provide information about our research project, Domain of One’s Own, and general class information. We look forward to working with you over the fall semester!
In the near future, we will send out our end-of-course research survey in Qualtrics via your UTA email. The team would appreciate your feedback regarding the course design to facilitate updates to the upcoming iteration next semester. We appreciate your willingness to participate in the innovative and exciting learning elements, and we will share our results as the project continues to unfold. Thanks for being such an integral part of #2162-HIST-2301-002 and our study!
Dr. Breuer posted a larger announcement in Blackboard, so make sure to check it out! I also have two quick comments:
- When using Facebook for social media A/B participation assignments, please post as a comment on the main announcement (currently #2162-2301-002 Social Media Activities 1A). This is going to help us keep better track of your assignments. It works the same way as the visitor post, so there isn’t any difference except where the post resides. If you have posted in the visitor section, we ask that you add it as a comment instead. Please let us know if you have any questions. As we mentioned, we are trying out a few things and determining what works best.
- As we start to get toward the end of Unit 1, We are going to post a research survey in Blackboard. We will ask about the bootcamp, course design, learning preferences, etc. This will help us greatly as we move forward in the course.
Great work so far!
Welcome to the website for World Civ Online @ UTA. This website serves as a central hub for our research project utilizing fully-online History of Civilization courses. This project is a longitudinal study over two years that will examine student engagement, self regulation, writing development, and more. Please contact us if you have further questions about our study.
